Holchin – Muzea EP (w/. Vadim Oslov remix) [Mountain Series]

Dublin-based record label Mountain Series sets sails with “Muzea EP” signed by Moldavian DJ and producer Holchin alongside Vadim Oslov on remix duties. The record will arrive soon in a limited number of only 300 copies with no digital promotion. The mastering is made by Alex Font of Acmé and the artwork is designed by the talented Hannah-Clare de Gordun.

Holchin has been around for quite some time now, mixing at parties in Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Russia or Belgium and sharing the decks with artists like Osvit, Yaroslav Lenzyak, Priku, Sammy Dee, Red Pig Flower, Stefan Goldmann and Dubfound, among others. “Muzea EP” marks his long-awaited debut on vinyl after several other tracks have been so far published in digital format through Zeitlos Music and My First Love Record.

Side A is reserved for “Burgundy Bong”, a twisted minimal cut infused with exotic nuances and a truly captivating progression. The oriental motifs and instrumentation gradually blend with the stripped-down and heavily modulated percussive layers, resulting in a hypnotising affair fitted for an already warmed-up dancefloor.

On the flipside “Choral” hits the soundwaves at a slower tempo with an abstract rhythm powered by a heavily filtered beat that leads an eerie chorus into a deep and introspective journey. Closing the wax, Vadim Oslov‘s remix takes B1 from its otherworldly dimension by adding a prominent steady-paced drumming pattern to it along with different vocal samples that replace the original chanting, rooting the vibe into the ground. A highly recommended 12″ right here!
