exclusive premiere: qqqq – LOOP8888 (Son of Elita Raw CUT) [Eli.sound]

Diego Gutierrez aka qqqq arrives to Eli.sound with an amazing dancefloor-oriented EP designed with analogue machines, incredible audio dynamics and two remixes provided by Phoq and label boss Son of Elita. The material adds even more magic to the label’s catalogue, which includes both digital and vinyl releases from numerous artists all over the world, including our previously featured premieres by Nicolas Barnes (Zenniv remix), Lou Flores & Leand (Nicolas Barnes remix), Nektar Agu (Dani Labb remix), Jack Cheler and OutsiDER (Son of Elita remix).

Born in Lima and now based in Los Angeles, Diego awakened his passion for electronic music at the age of 12 and since then he never stopped exploring the vast possibilities of house and techno music, settling for something that’s definitely somewhere in the middle, something you don’t usually find in today’s generic music. In 2015 he left Peru in order to study musical theory and audio engineering in the USA, which also lead him on the path to becoming a successful producer, with releases on labels like 4plae Records, Arms Limited, Groundid Music, Syntaxx Records, The Red Skull and True Life Recordings. Nowadays, Diego dedicates himself to analogue instruments and machines, performing hardware-only Live Sets and releasing music independently on Bandcamp.

Luis Oscar Pimentel aka Son of Elita is well-known for his intense activity in the international scene, either we talk about his Eli.sound outlet or his collaborations with Baile Musik, Celo Records, Enfant Records, Tip Tap, Unfelde Records, Vandalism Musique, Moral Fiber, Embi Music, Conceptual, Coquette, Agua y Sed, Verbreiten Records and Punchis, to name only a few. His distinct style blends elements from minimal, microhouse, techno, deep house, experimental music, downtempo and breaks, bringing forward a fresh sound often aimed at the dancefloor.

“Like all music for which I am responsible, I start with what I want to hear… I am not worried about extra elements. I am interested in finding the right sound. From there everything flows. Both tracks are born on the same day in relation to the mood of the day.”

While the original “LOOP8888” drops an uplifting vibe designed with numerous elements and twisted effects, Son of Elita‘s Raw CUT delivers a stripped-down version flavoured with intense breakdowns and variations, glitched sounds and heavily modulated rhythmic patterns. Following, “Reptar” reveals an inspiring and introspective modular journey set at around 134 bpm which is elegantly complemented by Phoq‘s Deep Interpretation. Listen to the snippets below:
