Jacobo Saavedra - Mutable [SVDR] 01

exclusive premiere: Jacobo Saavedra – Mutable [SVDR]

Jacobo Saavedra launches his own vinyl-only outlet with an inspiring selection that features one track by himself, two cuts made in collaboration with Jay Nortown under the JNJS alias and one with Mexican artist Mike D. The four-tracker delivers an amazing minimalistic sound designed with deep and colourful melodies, carefully crafted steady-paced rhythms and inspiring variations, definitely making this record a must-have for collectors and selectors alike. SVDR1 arrives in a limited number of copies and already enjoys early support from artists like Priku, Sublee, Rich NxT, Ted Amber, Nu Zau, Cosmjn, Iuly B, Viceversa, Vern, Chad Andrew, Pascal Benjamin, Miller, Gescu, Chklte and others.

“These are four tracks that I really wanted to share and I considered that the best way to do it was this, as the first release of my own project.”

“Mutable” opens the 12″ with a funky and breezy sound, specific to the Ibiza-based producer. The rhythm reveals a warm feeling where the percussive elements and the synth layers remain in focus throughout the journey while the background seems to be moving at all times. Following, the JNJS project delivers two steaming cuts, the deep flavours of “Building” and the groovy affair of “Bending Machine”. Both tracks provide a different kind of uplifting vibes, showcasing the duo’s formidable production skills. Closing, the dubby arrangements of “Serotonina”, made in collaboration with Mike D, will take you for a ride into cosmic dimensions where spiralling effects, melancholic textures, heavily glitched vocals and spacious breakdowns are elegantly brought into play.
