After his recent dubby take on “Tee Ess” by Lou Flores & Leand, Latvian producer Nicolas Barnes returns to Eli.sound with four uplifting minimal tech cuts, to which three remixes are added, one by label head Son of Elita, one by local artist Tarek JR and one by Argentinian artist Zenniv, which we invite you to enjoy exclusively on feeder sound today.

From Riga to the world, Nicolas Barnes delivers a distinct sound, designed with intricate minimal house and techno elements to which elegant shades of dub are often added. Throughout time, his productions have been published by imprints like Conceptual Records, MixCult, Simple Things, Razom, Greyscale Music, Soblazn and his own playground ECOUL SND.

Based in Buenos Aires, Zenniv is well-known for his releases with Welter Records, Gliese, Play Groove, Mind Hub, Not Allowed, Carpathian Sounds, Mobra Records, Homies Music, Worst Date Records, Retune Music and Oceanic Recordings, among others. In his career as a selector, he shared the decks with artists like Cossmos, Ako, Nektar Agu, Montei, Chico Fadelli, Cerec and Juan Zolbaran while his productions enjoyed massive support from the likes of Andrey Pushkarev, Sepp, Primarie, Direkt, Vern, Farid Odilbekov, Hrisq, Rigzz and Constratti. He is also the owner of Unk Planet record label.

“It was a pleasure doing the remix for Nicolas Barnes, I remember spending the night in the studio doing this remix until the early hours of the day. In this case I tried to capture my deepest side. In addition to using some samples from the original track, I used analogue instruments like the Roland TR8 for primary drums, the Korg Volca and an arpeggiator for the bassline. I also used sounds from my sample bank for sub drums, Roland’s Vst for sound fx and Omnisphere to create pads and textures. For eq and compression I used fab filter, waves, Hypercompressor from euromix_net and a few other things.”

The EP reveals seven uplifting tracks carefully crafted with a playful minimal sound in focus to which various shades of deep house, tech-house and breaks are added in order to spice up the whole journey. Our featured track delivers a dreamy, steady-paced rhythm set at around 125 bpm, elegantly complemented by warm textures, spacious breakdowns and inspiring variations. Perfect for upcoming hot summer days spent on the dancefloor!
