feeder sound exclusive premiere: Nektar Agu – Diva (Dani Labb in DUB) [Eli.sound]

The South American imprint Eli.sound presents an amazingly uplifting EP signed by Argentinian artist Nektar Agu alongside Jacobo Saavedra, Dani Labb and label-head Son of Elita on remix duties. The material adds even more magic to the label’s extended catalogue who features both established and rising talents from all over the world while enjoying great support from the underground community.

A native of Buenos Aires, Agustin Martin aka Nektar Agu began his career as a musician in 2008 inspired mostly by the electronic music brought forward by countries like Romania, Russia and Germany. We can define his productions as an elegant blend of techno, minimal, IDM and breaks, all carefully balanced by organic atmospheres or dissonant pads, hypnotic textures and versatility suited to the dancefloor outcomes. Throughout time, he gained support from artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Joseph Capriati, Franco Cinelli, Mihai Popoviciu, Arapu, Barac, Nu Zau, Cesar Merveille and Crihan while his works have been published by Delight_Rec, The Untold Stories, Osmosis Audio, Fake Records, Re.Face Limited, Na Zrak Records and Sleep is Commercial, to name just a few.

Based in Bariloche, a town in Argentina’s Patagonia region, Daniel Labbozzetta, aka Dani Labb studied bass and percussion from a young age and has been producing music for a long time, heavily influenced by house, minimal, jazz and experimental music. He’s currently part of the Plaisir Records (France) roster and well-known for his releases with Innocent Music Limited, Onward Recordings, Soblazn, Re.Face, Deep Sense Recordings, Samani and Innen, among others.

While the original take on “Diva” reveals a cryptic minimal tech sound powered by a solid bassline, prominent vocal cuts and spacious background atmospheres, Dani Labb provides a more stripped-down reinterpretation, elegantly flavoured with dub-like aspects and darker tones. The broken drumming patterns create an uplifting rotation as the other layers gently reverberate through the frequencies as abstract effects come into play here and there.

The other tracks are equally enjoyable, with “Divinorum” revealing an ethereal IDM-infused narrative that spans for more than 9 minutes taking the listener into cosmic dimensions while Son of Elita’s dubby cut adds a more grounding feeling to the whole story. The Spanish producer Jacobo Saavedra takes “Diva” to a thundering level, transforming the original into a fantastic, colourful ride perfect for the dancefloor, making this EP a must-have for collectors and selectors alike.
