After publishing three amazing minimal records signed by Chrivu, Maifaunu and Sonohat on his freshly founded record label Midas Touch, local DJ and producer Macarie drops “Four Out Of 4 LP” on vinyl-only side venture MDT LTD, unleashing a solid underground narrative that extends to 8 fresh tracks, with half of them going for the classic 4/4 rhythm backed-up by solid basslines and twisted textures and the other half settling for an unconventional electro/breakbeat approach. A highly recommended record right here for collectors, selectors and enthusiasts alike!

Macarie has been riding the waves lately, with proper releases on Vlad Arapasu‘s vinyl-only venture Kontent, Tobi More and Daniel Broesecke‘s Vivus Records, Lulla‘s notorious imprint Cedesciu Wax and surprising appearances on Sanguina 005 Various Artists compilation and UFDV003 on remix duties for Robert David‘s outstanding EP. His distinct take on electronic music is strongly influenced by the rominimal movement which he’s been exploring for quite some time now, reflecting a refined understanding of what makes underground music work. This LP arrives after countless hours spent behind the decks and in the studio, so expect a solid minimalistic journey designed for both introspective and dancefloor-driven moods.

I try to detach myself a little from the current monotony by experimenting in a more electro/breakbeat area.

“Debieight”, along with the swinging rhythm of the opening track “Strobe Lights”, the robotic sounds of “Time Traveler” and the inspiring futuristic electro vibes of the closing cut “Motok’uru” represent the quirky breaks-infused part of the album, having carefully crafted syncopated drumming patterns, electric synth work and alluring vocal cuts in focus at all times.

The other four compositions go for a more classical approach on minimal techno, with “Drones” and “Wushu Hands” twisting and turning at every possible point while the drums just keep on rolling with an uplifting vibration while “Oleander” and “Fury’s Swipes” exhibit a more funky sound, built upon intricate variations perfect for peak-time moments at any kind of party.
