feeder sound exclusive premiere: Dorothy’s Dream – Orientalia [Cedesciu Wax]
Miami-based label Cedesciu Wax returns with its sixth vinyl-only instalment in the form of “Lady Violet EP” signed by the mysterious artist Dorothy’s Dream. Packing four tracks designed with hypnotic and engaging minimalistic rhythms, the record already enjoys support from artists like Raresh, Priku, Triptil, Nu Zau, Sepp, Vlad Arapasu and Ted Amber. Launched in 2018, the venture so far released top-quality music from Sonohat, Robert Apetrei, Macarie, Szyszko and, of course, the label-head himself, Marco Santamaria aka Lulla.
Bringing forward psychedelic minimal sounds elegantly combined with dreamlike textures and meditative arrangements, Dorothy’s Dream recently made his debut on wax with apă002 on Unic’s notorious sublabel apă, while other digital tracks have been published by Tzinah Records. “Lady Violet EP” makes no exception from his distinct style while making a subtle reference to the seventh chakra often associated with beauty, creativity and inspiration.
“Orientalia” opens the B Side with a swinging vibe designed with a wobbling bassline, steady-paced drumming patterns and ever-evolving background layers. Progressive tones are also incorporated into the production while the variations reveal a dynamic outcome. The other three tracks are equally enjoyable, exploring immersive states of mind through energetic sequences, spacious breakdowns and forward-thinking synth work. A highly recommended record right here! Listen to the snippets:
