Unisson – Passo Dobre EP [Raw Crafted Wax]
Romanian duo Unisson and British imprint Raw Crafted Wax crossed paths and as a result “Passo Dobre EP” is now up on presale! The four-tracker arrives packed with a relentless groove and uplifting emotions, adding even more magic to the label’s catalogue which so far published two amazing records signed by Trik and Dragutesku.
Alex Draghici and Teodorescu Nicolae aka Unisson are already well-known for their distinct sound, enjoying local and international support from established names in the scene. Through their label UNS Records they published “Dreamer9D“, “Roboost” and “Nazare” EPs while other tracks were dropped on miNIMMAl movement and Mulen.
Side A opens with “Medusa Merger” which properly introduces the wax with a driving rhythm flavoured with wobbling basslines and warm ever-evolving background textures and microlayers. Following, “Openminder” maintains the energy yet switches the structures, aiming for a crisper sound built with breakbeat-infused drumming patterns and crunchy bass stabs.
On Side B, “Take A Break” reveals a stripped-down composition where the breaks are more prominent and an overall garage theme vibrates throughout the frequencies with style while the title track “Passo Dobre” closes the EP with a solid techy sound perfect for the dancefloor. A highly recommended 12″ right here, for selectors and collectors alike!
