feeder sound exclusive premiere: Alex Font, Nils Weimann – Ballets [Lazare Hoche Records]

The very first collaboration between Acmé boss Alex Font and Subtil Records co-founder Nils Weimann is brought forward by the Parisian imprint Lazare Hoche Records. Titled “Ballets”, the EP features two original tracks and a remix provided by local artist Lizz. Founded in 2011 by Charlie Naffah aka Lazare Hoche, the label is well-known for the amazing materials delivered throughout time, signed by artists like Stephan Hoellermann, Larry De Kat, Malin Genie, Nimbus Quartet, Mandar and Traumer, among others.

Alex and Nils have a lot of experience under their belts when it comes to modern electronic music as both of them work with a lot of international names in the scene, mixing, producing, remixing and publishing records. Their labels have a consistent discographic history while individually they released numerous titles with established imprints from all over the world. “Ballets” sees them unite their forces alongside Lizz for a groovy ride into the realms of minimal.

💥 Time to move your body with the full-length title track exclusively on feeder sound:

“This record has been made in Spain with a guy from Germany, remixed by a Romanian artist, released by an amazing French label and distributed in The United Kingdom by Juno Records. Great connections!” – Alex Font

The cut reveals a swinging steady-paced rhythm flavoured with playful classical string snippets and vivid effects which sweep through the frequencies with an elegant resonance. With the layers being slowly introduced over the drumming patterns and the breakdown focusing on the background textures we can easily say that the track will surely be heard in numerous sets this summer.

The other original take, “Kefta”, provides a minimalistic techy sound infused with a driving percussive core, a solid bassline, melodic pads and eerie vocal cuts while Lizz‘s re-interpretation takes the original into a darker dimension, built with glitched elements, wobbling effects and energetic vibes.
