Hailing from The United Kingdom, the team behind discotech announces the release of their first pressing, inviting Leeds-based artist Kepler to deliver three fresh cuts alongside Instinct on remix duties. The wax arrives in a limited number of 300 copies and already enjoys support from Enzo Siragusa, Rossko, Burnski, Tristan Da Cunha, Alessio Viggiano, TIJN, Dudley Strangeways, The Willers Brothers, Jeremy Weeks, Carlo Gambino, Nick Beringer and DJ Caspa.

Having a solid experience in organizing parties and promoting quality underground electronic music for more than 8 years, discotech runs events all over the UK and Europe working alongside the likes of Sankeys, The Rainbow Rooms, RiffRaff and The Zoo Project Ibiza. Becoming a label was a natural step and their first material surely is a bomb!

Kepler is well-known for his releases with Silencio, Pathway Traxx, Aesthetic, Off Path, Hoarder, Entity London, Sanguina Records, Daydream France, MO-OB and Pleasure Zone. His sound incorporates deep and melodic house or techno music as well as minimalistic and techy rhythms, while under his 0113 alias he explores UK garage and more syncopated genres. For this EP he teams up with Instinct, who drops a massive 2-step remix on the B-Side.

DTW001 offers a distinct sound where minimal, house and UK garage rhythms elegantly combine into one solid wax that will surely delight a lot of people on dancefloors worldwide. Side A opens with “Higher”, an uplifting piece designed with solid percussive elements and bass tones in focus that are carefully blended with bright background textures and warm vocal cuts. Following, “Raw” unfolds a deeper vibration backed-up by a strong wobbling bassline and numerous variations.

On the flipside we first find “Four4”, an equally energetic track that incorporates breakbeat-inspired drumming patterns, resonant synth notes and a funky-flavoured bassline. Closing, Instinct‘s reinterpretation of “Higher” reveals a heavy 2-step take on the original, perfectly balanced for sensitive soundsystems as all the elements sweep through the frequencies with the right amount of saturation.
