Herck – Rush Hour [Botta Records]
The first pressing released by the freshly founded Botta Records presents an original cut titled “Rush Hour” signed by local DJ and producer Herck and a remix from Julian and Gianni Ripoli aka Miroloja. The imprint was born from the energy of three close friends that are very passionate about electronic music and have been surfing the world’s best dancefloors digging for the grooviest sound. Their aim is to bring forward innovating rhythms and sounds to the underground movement, inviting skilled producers to showcase their potential and add relevance to the scene.
With recent works dispatched through Curtea Veche, Na Zrak Records, Trick Track, Melodeum and his own Bandcamp page, Herck remains true to the game, always looking for new ways to express his vision on music. Throughout time, his distinct sound became something that truly stands out, offering an immersive experience with each track or selection. The French duo Miroloja add their special kind of magic on this EP as well, completing the circle with their reinterpretation and making the wax a must-have!
Side A is reserved for the original “Rush Hour”, an engaging steady-paced composition lead by an alluring vocal cut that adds a deep and warm vibration overall. The solid bassline and percussion are complemented by numerous micropatterns and reverberating effects while the breakdowns perfectly balance all the layers.
On Side-B Miroloja’s remix offers an elegant reshaping of the original take, delivering a powerful minimal sound aimed at the dancefloor. Here, the drumming is compressed more, adding an extra punch to the frequencies, while the effects subtly morph into alluring textures and gloomy twists.
