Dutch record label Minimmal Movement presents the ninth instalment in its catalogue in the form of “Green Carrot EP” signed by Italian artist Gladis. The pressing brings forward four uptempo tracks designed with tech-house and breakbeat influences that will definitely bring joy to people on any dancefloor. The imprint is well-known for its releases delivered throughout time by producers like Yaroslav Lenzyak, Unisson, Costin Rp, Vid (under his Bacauanu alias), Lixir, Raru, Oprea Timpu, Alsi and Vot’e among others.
Born and raised in Venice, Gladis has always been passionate about electronic music and clubbing. She started her musical career around 2009 by travelling to Barcelona, London, Berlin and Ibiza where she learned new realities and expanded her mind, creating a base for her training as a DJ. With sets that incorporate deep sounds, house and techno music, she turned her passion into a residence at the Tag Club Venice where she shared the decks with many international artists, gaining even more experience while exploring various techniques. Stepping up with her own productions was a natural thing to follow and this EP encapsulates her relentless work and dedication.

Just like its title hints, the cut reveals an immersive breakbeat rhythm flavoured with intricate arrangements, warm background pads and crystalline synth patterns. The old-school feeling is definitely noticeable and is carefully crafted in order to provide a joyous outcome. The modulated vocal insertions add even more depth to the whole journey, making the piece perfect for the dancefloor.
The title track opens the EP with a solid house-infused arrangement elegantly complemented by a funky bassline, swirling effects and ethereal pads only to be followed by “Different Spaces” which goes deeper while maintaining the uplifting feeling with its techy percussion core and wobbling synths. Side B opens with “Abstracted Possibilities”, a twisted track with a hypnotic effect, rendering the release a must-have for any collector or selector.
