Today we’re celebrating Labor Day… inside our homes, as the lockdown is still in place here in Romania. What should have been a free day full of parties alongside friends is just another normal day of the quarantine period we’re going through. But this doesn’t mean we can’t have fun! So, adjust the volume of your speakers and let’s get groovy with another amazing feeder sound podcast.
The mysterious duo behind the Yama Music project have been longtime friends and worked together for nearly a decade, initially making their mark via a run of self-released EPs dropping once a month via their Bandcamp page before gaining recognition from Yoyaku founder Varhat and becoming part of the YY Distribution roster. Their distinct and engaging sound incorporates solid stripped-back rhythms, crispy minimal patterns, trippy synth arrangements and cosmic vibes altogether.
Based in the United Kingdom Yama Music also functions as a record label since 2018 bringing forward self-titled materials, with the latest fifth release actually being a Various Artists compilation that saw Birdsmakingmachine, Locïc, Dan Formless and Tijn joining in. As today seems to be a special day after all, the duo presents Digital 001 exclusively on their Bandcamp page, delivering three fresh cuts that are perfect to put anyone into a good mood and start shaking their bodies to the grooves.
feeder sound 261 mixed by Yama Music has all the ingredients needed for a perfect dive into the world of electronic music, incorporating pumping house sounds, deep compositions, microhouse, intricate minimal and abstract rhythms, dubby and atmospheric takes. Among the tracks, we find Hari’s remix of Busta Rhymes’ classic “Gimme Some More” and Valeriaan’s “Drum Procession”. Enjoy the ride!
There are only six days left until the deadline for the feeder sound Open Call for DJs and producers so if you haven’t registered yet, now is the time!
