Various – call_lab02 [Call_lab]

Tripmastaz returns to his Call_lab imprint with a second pressing, this time inviting the legendary Satoshi Tomiie, French house master Okain and the lord of dark tech David Gtronic to be a part of this collaborative project. Packing three uplifting tracks perfect for any kind of dancefloor, “call_lab02” will be released at the end of May so we can all enjoy hearing this record at summer parties when the lockdown will be lifted.

Internationally known as being a true icon of the modern house and techno scene, Tripmastaz has always been a guest of honour on our platform and his vast experience in the field of electronic music also assured him a place in the jury panel for the feeder sound Open Call for DJs and producers which ends on the 6th of May. We invite you to find out more about him in the feeder insider interview and listen to the engaging selection he provided for our ongoing podcast series, recorded at Sunwaves 26.

Side A is reserved for “Drift One”, a bouncy house cut developed in collaboration with the illustrious Japanese artist Satoshi Tomiie. High bpm, crisp percussion, classic arrangements and elegant variations are the ingredients used to make this composition balanced and groovy. From his debut back in 1989 alongside Chicago’s “Godfather of House” Frankie Knuckles up to this day, Tomiie has been at the forefront of the global house music movement, leaving a distinct fingerprint over all his selections and productions.

On Side B we first find “Axis Saw”, a pumping cut co-produced with Okain, an artist that began spinning records and making music two decades ago in Paris, shaping the bubbling French electronic music scene we know today. David Gtronic‘s specific approach to techno can be felt on the closing track “Breaker”, where the rhythm becomes a hypnotic affair that’s ready to sweep the frequencies on any soundsystem. The Colombian artist is widely known for his activity, with releases dispatched through Oblack Label, Moan Recordings, Serkal, Vatos Locos, Leftback, Mantra Collective, Tervisio and Synkronized, to name just a few. Definitely a must-have 12” for collectors and selectors worldwide!
