The first pressing brought forward by Dubphone‘s freshly founded imprint Seve17een features two original cuts signed by Dutch artist ONNO, as well as two remixes of the title track, one coming from Barcelona-based group Triad and one from the label-head himself. Titled “Cloud Control”, the 12” delivers an elegant blend of peak-time oriented techno vibes and deeper rhythms, perfect for any kind of dancefloor worldwide.

ONNO is well-known for his releases with Moon Harbour, Saved, Digital Traffik, Monza Ibiza Records, Get Physical, Souvenir, VIVa and Upon.You while his activity as a DJ includes residencies at Ibiza’s Ushuaia and Amsterdam’s Studio 80, amongst other numerous performances at various parties and electronic dance music festivals. Inspired by a lot of different things, be it music documentaries, travelling, discovering new cities and meeting new people, he delivers a distinct sound for more than 10 years now and this EP is yet another statement for his skills and vision. For this venture, we see No Replay, Pedro Bucarelli and Zakov aka Triad joining in, as well as Dubphone, the one behind the imprint, Vandalism Musique Group and Vandalism Black Series.

While the original cut delivers a steaming tech rhythm, Dubphone’s re-interpretation of “Cloud Control” reveals a deeper sound, carefully crafted with warm background textures and more relaxed drumming. The atmosphere has a dreamy vibe and the build-ups are more spacious, highlighting the subtle grainy layers.

Triad’s remix, on the other hand, combines the deeper aspects with the highly energetic arrangements of ONNO’s title track, resulting in an oscillating piece that will surely sweep the frequencies on any soundsystem. The trio is widely known across Europe, as they’re the founders and residents of the Watermelon parties which took place in cities like London, Paris, Lille, Berlin, Lyon, Bruxelles and Bucharest.

The closing cut “Wonky Tonky” sees the Amsterdam-based artist bringing forward a wobbling tech composition flavoured with a twisted bassline, uplifting percussion and short build-up moments designed with ethereal pads and bubbling effects. A must-have for any collector or selector right here!
