G76 – Giarmata Plutonium [Naural]

Romanian vinyl-only record label Naural returns with yet another hot pressing, this time with Florin Gojnea aka G76 at the controls. Titled “Giarmata Plutonium”, the 12” features four fresh tracks designed with piercing and powerful tones, delivering a straight-forward sound that reveals modern minimal-tech templates. The imprint was founded in 2012 and published amazing music signed by SIT, Barac, VincentIulian, Crihan, Zefzeed, Cosmjn and Einzelkind.

G76 is well-known for his collaborations with Midi Records, Apotek Studio, Rituale, Anbu Music, Nervmusic Records, Tablon, HPLS Records, Castanea and Playedby, as well as for his energetic and introspective selections. He performed in countries like Romania, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Ukraine, The United Kingdom, Germany and Israel, always delivering a distinct sound for the people. His style incorporates numerous influences from various genres as he loves to experiment, going from ambient, leftfield and IDM, to the modern aspects of house, techno and minimal.

Side A opens with “A Good Colonel Is Hard To Find”, a twisted composition infused with gloomy atmospheres, glitched percussive elements and heavy modulated vocal samples. The build-ups reveal intricate layering and solid bassline stabs, keeping the energy on a roll. Next, there’s “Unmark My Words”, a chunky four-to-the-floor track powered by spiralling background textures, deep harmonies and uncanny drumming sequences. Here, the variations create an ethereal journey defined by darker sounds and effects.

Side B is introduced by “Forzza Verbos”, a more minimalistic piece built with a steady-paced rhythm and a pulsating bassline in focus. Aside from the core layers, you can hear harsh synth patterns and numerous subtle micropatterns that add a mysterious flavour to the whole. Closing the wax, “Warrior Not Soldier” reveals a complex track forged with a strong wobbling bassline, an odyssey of bleeps and glitches as well as multiple fluctuations of the percussive components. The dynamics here will put any soundsystem to the test while providing a truly dynamic experience.
