Brussels-based vinyl-only label aNBu Music presents its fifth pressing in the form of “Flows Into Jazz” signed by Dima Kulakovsky aka Dubfound. The 12” features two original cuts and a remix delivered by Purplehummer aka Sammy Dee. Founded in 2014 and driven by the passion to release music from a circle of talented artists, focusing on quality over quantity, the imprint previously released materials from Third Child & Bauch, Zefzeed, G76 and Mihigh.

Dubfound is a skilled DJ and producer based in Chisinau, Moldova. He is also the owner of the vinyl-only labels Swoon, Nurum, Tobus and Zimotik, where he published music from artists like Takashi Himeoka, Ferro, Anestie Gomez, Topper, Tommy Vicari jnr, Birdsmakingmachine, Lowris and himself, of course. Aside from the numerous materials published through his own playgrounds, he also worked with imprints like Sleep Is Commercial, Third Wave Black, Fox Trax, Memoria Recordings, Cadenza, Vinyl Club, Nervmusic Records, Pleasure Zone Limited and Rawax, to name only a few. Additionally, he has several side projects under aliases like MUS and Jezellic, where he explores crispy experimental and minimalistic sounds.

Side A opens with the title track “Flows Into Jazz”, which, just like its name implies, contains jazzy notes and sequences that add a warm feeling to the whole composition. The steady-paced rhythm is designed with intricate variations and the wobbly bassline creates a playful swing. The effects and the modulated voices add a spatial dimension, making the track introspective and groovy at the same time. Next, there’s “Sophisticated Sparrow”, a techy and experimental cut built with minimalistic arrangements and dark undertones. The background textures and the carefully crafted micropatterns swirl into hypnotic elements that elegantly complement the percussion and the solid bassline.

On Side B we find the re-interpretation of the title track, which is heavily stripped-down in order to provide a deeper journey. The hi-hats and the growling bass and sub-bass frequencies are in focus here, while the jazzy elements are re-arranged in new patterns and spacious build-ups.
