Jorge Savoretti – ATIPIC009 [Atipic]

After his previous collaboration with the imprint in 2017, Argentinian DJ and producer Jorge Savoretti returns to Priku‘s Atipic label, marking the ninth vinyl-only instalment in the catalogue. The 12” is simply titled “ATIPIC009” and brings forward four untitled tracks designed with groovy and uplifting rhythms perfect for any dancefloor.

Jorge Savoretti started to explore electronic music in 1993 at underground rave parties in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina. A passionate music collector, he accumulated diverse materials ranging from house to synth-pop and in 1996, at the age of fifteen, he steps up behind the turntables. He soon starts to perform at local nightclubs and begins an accomplished residency at “El Sotano”, one of the most influential underground venues of the country.

Jorge‘s hard work, dedication and love for music aid in his consistent growth as a DJ, managing to cross different bridges during his rich musical history acquiring a unique sense of versatility. In time, he also starts to produce his own sounds, relentlessly experimenting with modern house and techno music. His discography counts numerous EPs, LPs and remixes published by labels like Igloo, Esperanza, Mupa, Drumma, Rogue Society, Visionquest, Cadenza, Telegraph and Mulen Records, to name a few. In 2011 he founds Savor Music alongside Cape, delivering timeless records and digital works signed by emerging and established artists from all over the world.

A1 kicks in with a driving house rhythm that swirls around 125 bpm while an electric vocal sample spices up the whole composition. The percussive elements are backed up by a second layer of energetic hi-hats from time to time, building tension when the variations change. A2 follows with a funky swing as the progressive arrangements are ready to take one into a dreamy musical journey, with the background providing long evolving pads. On the flipside, B1 reveals a deeper cut that stands out with its melodic build-ups and phased notes, while B2 closes the wax with a subtle dubby take on its elements and a more minimalistic approach. Another great pressing for electronic music lovers and selectors alike.
