Drumma Records returns with another amazing release, this time the protagonist being the Dutch DJ and producer Toman. Titled “Afterhours With You”, the material features three original tracks and one remix provided by label head Felipe Venegas in collaboration with emerging Chilean artist Fco Martinez. Designed with tech-house rhythms and vibrant arrangements, the EP aims to deliver a proper musical experience on any dancefloor.

Based in Amsterdam, Toman started his musical journey from an early age, learning to play the drums and exploring the “unrestrictive complexities of electronic music”. In time, he develops his distinct style, an eclectic combination of house, tech-house, minimal and deep sounds. In 2017, his first solo EP arrived courtesy of Mihai Popoviciu‘s well-known label Cyclic and one year later he made his debut on vinyl with “Broodrooster EP” released through to Cinthie’s much-loved We_r House imprint. The release enjoyed support from globally respected DJs such as Archie Hamilton, Terry Francis, Roger Gerressen, Rossko, Dorian Paic, Traumer, Alexi Delano and Eric Cloutier. Other collaborations include materials published by No Art, Meta, Blind Vision Dubs, Inermu Wax, Off Path, hedZup Records and Bondage Music.

In between studio sessions, Toman continues touring as a DJ, with bookings outside of the Netherlands including stop-offs in Uruguay, Argentina, Sydney (where he played at the notorious SASH party), Berlin’s Watergate and Leipzig’s Distillery, as well as jaunts to Zurich, Manchester and Bucharest, to name only a few. There’s no doubt that he’s beginning to leave his mark on the international scene as his year successfully ends with a tour in Australia and New Zealand.

The remix maintains the groovy atmosphere of the original track while the rhythm is slowed down a bit and exotic sequences are added. Felipe Venegas and Fco Martinez also introduce a playful solid bassline, dynamic and varied percussive elements and melodic pads, taking the track into a funky dimension, perfect for dancing.

The original take on the title track as well as the other two cuts, “No Strings Attached” and “She Jazz” reveal a clear and uplifting sound, built with harmonic layers and insertions, as well as subtly modulated voices that add even more spice to the whole. Refreshing and well balanced, Toman’s “Afterhours With You” delivers a proper experience with a swing for any electronic music enthusiast or selector. Pre-order your copy from here.
