Mesmerising original ‘Options’ reworked by five fresh talents – Out Now

B O K E H’s mesmerising release ‘Options’ is taken to a new level of creativity with a remix EP, dropping December 6^th on Gloomstone Records, in partnership with Ditto. Taking the helm are five scintillating artists making waves in electronic music; Thor Rixon, Jody Barr, Harry Charles, Linn Stern and CoppiCat all deliver their own artistic interpretations of the ethereal original which caused a stir back in October, securing slots in top playlists across the board and shining a well-deserved spotlight on the multinational, multitalented B O K E H, aka Chloë Lewer.

Thor Rixon builds on the existing structure, with its haunting top lines, creating extra layers through percussion, echoed vocals and a heavy breakdown asserting itself halfway in and staying until the second verse. Jody Barr goes for an early 90s vibe, evoking that nostalgic rave feeling with broken beats. Barr keeps the core emotional synth pads and highlights the killer vocal, twisting and distorting it, digging deep with experimentation.

Harry Charles goes on a more abstract journey, slicing up the vocal and lavishly increasing melancholic chords. Linn Stern adds cinematic synths, upping the noir a notch for a Bladerunner-esque dystopian feel. Coppicat closes off the EP, delivering a 4/4 cut which centres around a compelling vocal hook and spacey pads.
