Start your weekend with feeder sound mixed by Heerd, a local project on the rise that’s ready to take you on an indelible audio journey.
George Olaru and Ionut Stroe aka Heerd are an electronic music duo based in Bucharest, Romania. The project was launched in January 2015 and since then the two continuously displayed their distinct perspective on modern house and techno music through their performances and releases. Keeping it underground, the duo had a few appearances across the country where they shared the decks with artists like Ludica, Metafore, Radu Mirica, Topper and Sepp.
When it comes to production, their sound brings forward an elegant combination of deep and groovy house, eclectic techno rhythms infused with minimalistic motifs here and there as well as subtle elements taken from jazz, funk, electro and breakbeat. On their Bandcamp page, Heerd dispatched a couple of tracks and edits inspired by Data Soul, Bryan Ferry and Laurie Anderson, along with three volumes of carefully crafted tunes. Aside from their digital independent works, the duo also published two 12” EPs with the mysterious imprint COTEOF, titled “Elevate” and “Cosmic Dust”, while contributing to Caph’s “Spacewalk II” and Unutrei’s “UToWax Part. 2” Various Artists compilations. Recently, they started the Heerdter Undrgrnd podcast series aiming to introduce to the people the music of talented artists around different genres and styles, with Marin and Alec Pritchard being the first to deliver amazing sound narratives. With more and more established artists supporting them, the future sure looks bright for George and Ionut, so stay sharp and tune in to their frequencies.
feeder sound 240 mixed by Heerd reveals a varied selection that goes through different shades of house music, techy compositions and melodic vibes. The set kicks in with “Alien Boys” by The Black Dog and flows into a carousel of sensations powered by smooth transitions that lead to a spacious and relaxed ending. Time to get your body moving so dive in with the volume up!
