This week, our guest Felipe Venegas will take you on a journey to vibrant electronic realms with his energetic and alluring selection of music.
Throughout time, Felipe Venegas has built a reputation as one of the best DJs and producers in Chile. He studied classical music in Santiago, but his true education was achieved outside the classrooms, in clubs where DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Dandy Jack were creating a new culture of sound. Felipe spent weeks studying Beethoven, Bach, Stravinsky or Ravel, only to wait for the weekends and escape to underground music clubs where he absorbed the spirit of techno, house and acid. As a result, he completely immersed himself in electronic music and started to work on his own vision.
Felipe‘s passion transformed into a successful career that took him all around the world, performing at renowned venues like Fabric London, Club der Visionaere, Watergate, Tenax, Tresor, Pacha Ibiza and festivals like Time Warp, DGTL, Creamfields, Sensation, Mysteryland and others. He shared the decks with many important names in the scene and collaborated with talented music makers in his productions, notably Alejandro Vivanco, Pablo Cahn, Francisco Allendes and Umho. In 2011 he founded Drumma Records, publishing innovative sounds from the likes of Jorge Savoretti, Livio & Roby, Vinyl Speed Adjust, Juan Zolbaran, Argenis Brito, Jack Wickham, Ricardo Villalobos and Faster, with the latest instalment in the catalogue being signed by local legend Barac. Aside from his own playground, his music has been published by labels like Immigrant, Fumakilla, Supernature, Cadenza, Serkal, Melisma Limited and Aimed, to name a few.
feeder sound 236 mixed by Felipe Venegas reveals an engaging journey infused with hypnotic minimal cuts, deep and warm house and techno groovers, as well as pumping rhythms that will make you want to dance. Carefully balanced, the selection delivers a relentless exploration of old and new sounds alike, incorporating funky basslines, rattling shakers and hi-hats, solid drumming and spacious atmospheric moments. Enjoy the ride with the volume up!
