French imprint OLO Records returns with its second pressing, a Various Artists compilation titled OLOREC002 after its catalogue number. The 12” features four tracks delivered by label-owners Julian and Gianni Ripoli aka Miroloja, Ukrainian artist Silat Beksi and local talents Olivian Nour and Paradoxal. Early support comes from Barac, Janeret, Mihai Pol, Prichindel and others.

Not only brothers, Paris-based Julian and Gianni Ripoli are driven by the same passion for electronic music and their universe spins around mixing and producing house, microhouse, deep techno and minimal. Under the Miroloja alias, they collaborated with Recordeep, NG Trax, More Than Music, Hubble Recordings and Kanja Records, while setting up their own vinyl-only playground was a natural step in their career. For this wax, they invite three of the most vibrant names in the scene at this moment, bringing forward an amazing combination of styles that resonates under a common vision.

The duo opens the VA with “Tenor”, a deep and steady-paced composition designed with melodic motifs, warm textures and eerie vocal samples that spice-up the journey. The drumming is balanced by a playful bassline while the cut builds tension through spacious moments that reveal the intricate background patterns. Next, we find Silat Beksi with “Miracle Inside” maintaining the vibe yet elegantly providing a different kind of arrangement, with swirling chords and subtle micropatterns blending into immersive emotional soundscapes.

On the flipside, Olivian Nour introduces us to “Warrior”, a rolling piece flavoured with progressive elements and rotating layers, perfect for the dancefloor. With the bassline in focus and the percussion slowly building momentum, the rhythm flows with energy in sync with bright notes and smooth modulations. Closing, there’s “Matrix” by Stefan Paraschivescu aka Paradoxal, a young and rising Dj and producer. His track offers a minimalistic sound infused with melancholic reverberations and whispered voices, exploring an intricate dimension beyond microhouse and dub.
