Unknown – TELUM005 [Telum]

The fifth vinyl-only instalment coming from the enigmatic record label Telum introduces to three steaming tracks that have already been played by artists like Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, Cap, Barac, Praslea, Cristi Cons, Sepp, Lizz, Cosmjn, Mihai Pol, Arapu and others. Just like we’re accustomed to, the imprint doesn’t reveal the artist and focuses only on the music, with the pressing being hand stamped and available in a limited number of copies.

Enjoying massive support in the international scene, the imprint dispatched some serious sounds until now and will continue to do so for sure, while also expanding its concept with the recent announcement of their first underground party in London. Set to take place on the 1st of November somewhere in Hackney Wick, Telum sided with Into The Woods crew in order to deliver a spicy line-up featuring Priku, Ferro, Iuly.B, Kolo & Dyze, Tarek Charbonnier and Isam Mellagui. If you’re around, this one is not to be missed!

The distinct feeling of TELUM005 is definitely encapsulated on the A-Side, with the funky vibes of Gorillaz’ “Feel Good Inc.” being edited into a hot spin-off aimed at the dancefloor. Infused with minimalistic techno modulations and elegant arrangements the cut sweeps through the frequencies while re-imagining the original with style.

On the flipside, B1 unleashes an engaging rhythm designed with intricate micropatterns and bright background textures while B2 goes melodic and brings forward an alluring composition built with eerie harmonics, strong percussive sequences and a vibrant wobbling bassline.
