Let’s get groovy with this week’s episode of feeder sound brought forward by Paul Agripa, a well-known figure of the Romanian underground scene.

Paul Agripa is an established presence in the local electronic dance music culture, with activity spanning for more than eight years. With his career driven by passion, he slowly built a name for himself, delivering amazing selections and productions throughout time. Always smiling and enjoying the music he’s playing, Paul is one of those DJs that create a sense of happiness and pure joy for the lucky crowds that get to experience his sets.

His discographic history includes collaborations with labels like Zimbru, as a part of the Sahau project, Cuplet, alongside Dan Andrei as Comojii, and Uvar, where together with Lumieux he published “Alla Prima” EP as Ragrip. He also signed remixes for Martin Glowacz and Nils Weimann, dispatched on Subtil Records and for Vot’e, released with miNIMMAl movement in July. As a DJ, his latest gigs involved travelling from Timisoara to Bucharest and forward to Constanta, where he shared the decks with artists like Dubtil, Lowris, Sepp, Praslea, Arapu, Amorf LIVE and Kozo, to name only a few and not to mention the huge line-up usually displayed for the Sunwaves Festival.

Paul Agripa experimented with various music styles and instruments since he was young, a thing which can be seen in his music, where every composition delivers a story or sounds like it’s designed out of a dream. From classical music to jazz and from the piano to the guitar, he explores possibilities and sets on to embrace the modern aspects of electronic music, merging all his influences into a distinct and delightful style. For his experience to be complete he also starts to collect vinyl, in time building an amazing selection of rare and fresh pressings alike.

“At Urbanist it was possible for me to find the groove among dear friends. Case closed with Ioana from Misbits (Bucharest) and Joe from BlackRoundTwelve (Berlin). But I think that as a DJ, you can’t really express 100%. It should be a live act and this would take a lot more time – the most valuable assets of all.” – Paul Agripa

feeder sound 234 mixed by Paul Agripa was recorded at The Urbanist this late September and kicks-in with Dan Andrei’s syncopated “Logic” released with [a:rpia:r], elegantly includes “Orsted” from 77ks and a remix of “Soul Sounds” from Sasse, ending on a relaxed note with reverberating chords and old-school percussion. Adjust the volume of your speakers and enjoy the ride!
