VincentIulian – Atipic Lab 006 [AtipicLab]

The sixth instalment in the Atipic Lab series sees Chiriches Vincentiu Iulian aka VincentIulian returning to Priku‘s notorious label with three fresh and engaging cuts designed for the dancefloor. Launched last year, this side project already includes collaborations with Arapu, Faster, Floog, Cosmjn and Vlad Arapasu, with more surprises stored in for the future for sure.

VincentIulian is well-known for his releases with Naural, Metereze, Moment, Contemporan, Liniar and Acmé, as well as for his amazing performances where each selection is carefully crafted to perfectly suit the audience. He shared the decks with artists like Lizz, Mihai Pol, Cezar, Vlf, Cabanne, Livio & Roby, Nu Zau and many many others, with his name also present on the line-up at festivals like Waha, Citadela, Electric Castle, Sunwaves and Mioritmic. On Atipic Lab 006, he brings forward three distinct tracks that vibrate with various colours of minimalistic house music. Let’s check out the wax in more detail.

With the full A-Side dedicated to it, “Agera” reveals a dynamic composition, infused with a funky wobbling bassline, deep pads strokes and playful drumming sequences. Tension is built with the help of melodic and electric synth arrangements which add even more energy to the whole.

On Side B, we first find “I Don’t Wonder”, a glitchy organic rhythm powered by modulated vocal samples, swirling effects and solid percussion, emphasised with the help of micropatterns. Having all it takes to be a solid groover, expect to hear this cut sweeping the frequencies through many minimal-based DJ sets.

Closing the wax, “Ultrak” features a more relaxed tempo, with spacious textures forming an amazing background for the voices that stand out throughout the cut. Perfect to be used in opening sets, as well as in laid-back selections suitable for an afterparty, the sound calls for dancing, as it elegantly ensues a groovy atmosphere.
