Cally – Choo Sing EP [Windmühle]

Windmühle returns with its fourth vinyl-only instalment in the form of “Choo Sing EP” delivered by Dragos Gabriel Dumitru aka Cally. The pressing features two fresh tracks, one on each side, designed to provide an uplifting atmosphere on the dancefloor either if it’s day or night.

Cally adds his remarkable contribution to the mysterious Windmühle catalogue this autumn, following the three releases signed by Alex Simori, Brind and Lizz. With a lot of performances set all across Romania, Europe and beyond, he also finds time for production and throughout the time he collaborated with publishers like Fear Of Flying, Only 300 Family, Neostrictly, Brouqade, Inwave, Malonian, More Than Music and WYS! Recordings. He always brings forward engaging sounds, creating a distinct aura around him, as his style is indeed unique. Enjoying support from many top names in the scene, Cally finds himself on the right path in what means to work hard in order to succeed. Let’s explore his latest EP in more depth.

On Side A, “Choo Sing” reveals a carefully crafted melodic soundscape infused with deep atmospheric moments and meticulously designed syncopated drumming patterns. Eerie voices and spacious modulations add even more magic while the moderate low-end frequencies spin into a hypnotic rhythm. A delightful composition, most suitable for afterparties.

On Side B, “Lenny” stands out with its phat bassline and seamless background textures rotating around the core elements into an entrancing and dynamic tune. A subtle funky breeze is felt throughout the track, making it a perfect choice for the party’s apogee.
