Kenah – Contest Set

Set description: “The set resonates the mid and high end mostly, giving the low-end frequencies more rhythm being more appealing to the genre. The major lifts are made to give continuity and also melodies are not missing giving purpose to make you even dance more. The harmonic construction of the sound is as artistical as anything else from what the ear can catch. Tech-house, techno and house is the trajectory of the genre itself but the minimal and new sound does not leave you unaware of the fact that the mix is done to be enjoyed in any case of audition. The mixing style is done with great care, having all the tracks played with their tones and elements being a great contribution to the fun is dependent on. The space between each of the sequences has to do with the capability to leave the spectator feel every Hertz and idea behind it.

Mixed at 124 BPM with energic, clubbing music.”

About INA

Fictional character with photographic memory into 90s house, garage, breakbeat, electro and touches of minimal. Soaking up music culture from all over the world, ready to share some grooves.

Born and raised in Romania, currently based in Cyprus, INA was surrounded by cassette culture and dance radio, since before she could talk.

Digging for music came as second nature, her childhood home was full of classic records that she felt compelled to organize neatly. Her passion evolved into a need to share her music knowledge and thanks to the Internet she did just that by starting her own music blog.

All the digging and clubbing eventually lead to INA stepping behind the decks in 2017.

Set description: “Recorded a while back at one of MaiVenim’s afterparties in my hometown Iasi. The set is a statement of both mixing and sound skills. About Steve

Steve has a simple goal in mind, making people connect through music. There are few DJs out there than can transpose into the collective consciousness of the crowd as he can. So far he got to play alongside the likes of Arapu, Nima Gorji, Melodie and many more but the biggest highlight of his career so far being warming up for Valentino Kanzyani.
Production-wise, he likes to keep mostly to himself and share his works only with a select few.

About Amaru

Hello, my name is Teo, I’m 19 years old and I started mixing about 6 months ago.
The story about how I got into this is quite simple. I always loved techno music but I never considered trying mixing.
So my friends got me into this private party where a local dj was playing. Because there were few people all the action was around the dj and his setup. This dude had an allen&heat mixer and two cdj-350s. Seeing him mix I started to want to try.
So I got myself a pioneer ddj-400 and started fooling around for a few months. And here I am.
My artist name is “amaru”, which is the end of “junkamaru”, which is a derivate of my real name Juncu. Even I don’t know how it went there but I like it.

MF – feeder sound contest

Set description: “Different types of music lead us to manifest specific mental-emotional behaviours. In certain circumstances, we are induced to alter procedures according to the different states of consciousness that music can involuntarily lead us to achieve. In investigating the effects of music on life, some preliminary experiments with plants were carried out. Paradoxical as it may seem, the effect of music on the early plant kingdom is one of the most convincing methods of proving that music influences life, including human life. I use music to energize me and energize the world and expanding that is my role in this world.”

About MF

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marcelo Frota was influenced by electronic music since he was young. Around the year 2000, he undergoes some transformations, experimenting with minimalistic and abstract themes and rhythms. He releases some of his works with labels like BQ Recordings, Restore Music, Tenor Recordings, Black Lemon, DTL Records, Opium Muzik and Erijo, to name a few. In 2014 he founds B-Side, an underground label based in his hometown and invites various artists to perform vibrant live and DJ sets. Last year he released Black Drink EP on Conceptual Records featuring three steaming deep tech cuts.

Today his challenge is to create something totally different, something that suggests a high vibrational pattern. The experimental sounds of Algorhythm incorporate technoid percussion, IDM patterns and glitching, drone backgrounds and ambient themes.

licushorescu – 3 ianuarie

Set description: “I don’t give titles to my sets very often, but when I recorded this one, it was somewhat of a special occasion for me. “3 ianuarie”, or 3rd of January (for English speaking viewers); I woke up early that day, after a long night of digging tracks. And that night, I felt like I’ve just found the perfect combination of tracks for a set, so I went for it the very next morning. From the comfort and warmth of my own house, I could gaze upon the falling snow in the garden from time to time through the mixing process, making for a very pleasing and enjoyable experience because there is nothing as serene as seeing the trees covered in a fresh sheet of snow, on a quiet morning for me.
Therefore, I’ve just named the set “3 ianuarie” and the title stuck with it ever since. The set didn’t get much publicity because I only published it for a week or two on my personal SoundCloud page, as I had other sets prepared in advance for various podcast series.

It isn’t a long set to any extent, at 45′ it’s merely longer than what I would consider a set at all (30′ at least), but I just couldn’t find any other tracks to keep such a synergy throughout the mix and my impatience was growing more and more, so I had to go with what I had. I like my work when it’s presenting smooth transitions between the tracks and this one is no exception, so I hope it will take you to a journey, at least as much as it did me. I enjoy listening to it the most when I take a half an hour break in the day for a meditation session. Regarding the tracks, I took a very selective approach to try to create more of a mystical and nostalgic atmosphere with them. Most of them are older unreleased tracks from Mihai Pol that showcase his darker side, but the tracks, numbering 7 or 8 in total, are not from him only. Anyway, enough of that, I hope the description got your attention I think at this point I should let the music do the talking for itself.”

I am Alexandru, but I go by the alias Licushorescu. I am a student living in Botosani, a small city in the northest part of Romania.
I am a newcomer that started playing recently, more as a hobby than something serios. However, that’s not to say that I don’t take my mixtapes recorings seriously. Mixing deep minimal techno is what I go for mostly, but from time to time I take a step back to explore new areas in the realm of music as well, usually through the ambient genre.

Transylvanian born guy, Dubgrade, member of Monocord agency, has a strong passion for house music. Started playing in a local club at the age of 14, now almost heaving 13 years of dj experience.

About Exydos

While Exydos was a music lover since he was a little child, his decision to get into music as a DJ was very sudden and without doubt it has shaped his life to a direction where he finds happiness. Although, he was influenced by electro sounds in his early years, getting into techno-minimal music was somehow a discovery of his true personality. Most of his inspiration comes from big artists such as Gaiser , Dubfire , Egbert , Bart Skils , Gary Beck , Cari Lekebusch, George Adi , so therefore, his sound can be described as dark, atmospheric bass-line driven techno with a minimalistic approach, leading percussions and energetic grooves. In order to master his skills, he signed up to a DJ seminar, where he worked on all of the aspects of music. About Lucio Agustín

Lucio Agustín is a DJ and producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was introduced into electronic music thanks to the influence of artists like Archie Hamilton, Mihai Popoviciu, Apollonia, Mandar, Phil Weeks, Djebali, Traumer, among others.
In 2012, Lucio decided it was necessary to have a professional formation as a musician so he started to study in ARJAUS, a very well-knownschool of electronic music from Buenos Aires.
Three years later, he was ready to make a raid into productions. His releases were very successful and launched by different labels such as Little Helpers, Bondage Music, Cyclic Records, among many others. All this experience gave him the inspiration to develop his own DJ style which combines House, Techno and Minimal sounds.
Since finding his own genre, Lucio has played in some of the most important local clubs such as Pacha Buenos Aires, Rio Electronic Music, Bahrein Buenos Aires, Niceto Club, INPUT BA and Esvedra among others.
In 2016, Lucio has founded SUSTAIN, his own event producer & record label, where in each performance he can express his mixing skills.
After more than 70 releases on Beatport is how to get positioned as one of the top 10 Minimal Artists of 2017 reaching the number 6 in Beatport.
His first participation in vinyl was for Little Helpers achieving the top 1 sales in deejay.de
Actually, Lucio is working in new projects with Ableton Live for future live performance.

Peshka – Open Call Podcast

Set description: “Since I recently had a premiere on Feeder.ro, I decided to record a special podcast consisting of unreleased stuff and future releases of my friends and mine, as well as several already released tracks.”

About Peshka

Peshka was created by Mark Fevralsky in 2014, in the same year he played his first set in one of the most famous clubs in Ukraine – Boom Boom Room (Kyiv) the reason was the victory in the competition from topdj.ua, but after the beginning of the anti-terrorist operations in the east of Ukraine, where the artist lives, he took a two-year pause, in 2016 he returned with the accumulated material and full of ambition.
By the end of 2017, he already had 4 vinyl and 7 digital releases. Leading an ascetic, sometimes underground way of life, he doesn’t spend energy on mediocre offers. Peshka strictly builds its musical core, relying on the individual perception of music in general.
In 2018 he released vinyl “Mood” EP (RE.FACE LTD) with remixes from Vincentiulian and Vendi. After this, in 2019 he released second vinyl solo “Pleasant Pain” EP on famous Italian label – Amam.

I discovered house music around 10 years ago. Since then I tried to learn as much as I can about this movement.

About Vorosh

My name is Anton Voroshilov. I am from Russia.
Have been interested in music since early childhood and listened to it on my favourite reel-to-reel recorder. Then I graduated from the music school, mastered several instruments, studied music literature and in general everything that is somehow connected with classics. Later switched to electronic music. First, just listened and collected the music of the most famous electronic music composers. But decided not to stop: started to get interested in music mixing, learnt special literature and as a result have mastered different ways of mixing. And only after it all tried to compose my own tracks. To create the samples I have tried alot of software and the most comfortable turned out to be Ableton Live. Now I spend a lot of time to compose music of minimal house style.

I’m a romanian 18 years old bedroom dj. Nothing much to say about me, I can say I’m a simple person. Only passion I have is minimal music. I felt in love with it since I was 15 years old, when I went to my first party near my hometown in Bacau. One of my personal future goals in my life that I want to improve my producing skills (since 1 month I started producing, but I didn’t show anyone my works because I’m still a little bit uncertain about it). Lu Klein – Troopers Hike

Set description: “I recorded the set after one of my collectives parties in the Netherlands, in Groningen at club OOST. After a club night I enjoy playing deep and seizing records, that take you on a journey. I never prepare sets in that sense of making a tracki list. It works the best for me when I catch an audiences mood or when I’m in a certain mood and from that on I dig my way through my records and digital music. The set was recorded on 2x 350cdjs, 2x technics and the allen heath xone 42. I can’t really provide a tracklist since I don’t quite remember in what files of mine I was browsing. This particular recording reminds me of troopers hiking with dragging but steady progression. I always like to emphasise a smooth journey in my recordings without interuption or disturbance. This recording is faded out because the original length would have exceeded the maximum.”

About Lu Klein

Lu’s artistic career has it roots in Groningen, NL. Inspired by the local scene she dedicated herself to the finest underground sounds, ranging from deep to soulful groove seeking minimal.

In 2016 she co founded the collective The Cave. which successfully filled a gap by throwing warehouse parties in unique locations and showcasing local artists as well as rising talents from all over the world. Despite of spinning at her collective’s parties, she has performed at local clubs like Paradigm and OOST.

Digging deep into the treasures of local record stores has certainly influenced her style and contributed to her ability to comprise a broad spectrum of minimal. Her sets span from hypnotic to energetic grooves. Currently, she is located back in the Netherlands where she follows up on her studies and gains work experiences as well as focuses on new challenges and her own artistic path.

About Jbogart

Hello! My name is Bogdan Crisan, 26 and I live in Bucharest and I perform and produce under the name of Jbogart (John Bogart) and I am also a part of musical project Cert alongside my good friend Moise.

I have found my passion about 5 years ago when one of my friends showed me his midi controller and its capabilities, which was more then enough to make me decide to start my path as a producer/DJ in electronic music. Thus far I have had various gigs as a DJ, including a warmup performance for one of Charlie’s gigs at Motiv. I have also participated in the dj bootcamp II alongside one of my favorite DJs Rhadoo which helped me hone my skills significantly. I am very greatful of having had tracks of mine played in several gigs so far by artists such as Grizzly and R107, being in a continous musical interaction with them in the studio or at our home setups, working on projects and whatnot.

Set description: “The set consists of a collection of live performed and live mixed original compositions by Gavin Desmond (Wukah), performed on Ableton with an Alesis MiniV Midi Keyboard, APC 40 MK2, opening in minimal style, with an gentle and absorbingly dark atmosphere with a lot of subtle and glitchy detail, with occasional live performed rhodes and synth solos.”

About Wukah

Corkman born and raised, Wukah got into music from a very early age, studied classical piano and music composition, has a sideline in film scoring and jazz music as well as ambient textural electronic music, but is focussed on Minimal Techno/Tech House, but his sounds often crosses boundaries to include deep house, melodic techno, garage, etc. He’s keen in sound design, creating crunchy and punchy percussive beats, lots of organic and melodic sampling, with deep bass and a groove that will get people moving on the floor, and being a bit of a film bore regularly samples from movies.

About IOAN

IOAN is a young and talented artist from Latvia. From an early age he has always been involved into music. He believes that the combination of sounds is a method of communication, a way of expressing emotions and deep feelings.

John has been inspired by the underground vibes. The energy transmitted by such environment has enabled his creativity and capability of manipulating sounds and create something different form the usual. His deep dedication to music has driven his emotions and developed his knowledge through the years.

Ioan sounds can be described as a mixture of micro house and minimal sounds creating an energetic and hypnotic groove. His desire to express emotions can be identified through his deep selection of records and his ability to create a coherent and captivating mix in accordance to what he wants to transmit to the public.

John’s future plans is related to his desire to improve and develop as a producer in order to release his first Ep and discover new way of experimenting sounds.

DIJKSTRA – feeder sound open call set

Set description: “Starting with The Vorba Cu Ea (AnduM edit), this set gently begins with some beautiful romanian vocals, interpreted by Daniela Burlaca. The next one, a remix by Sublee, brings in some deep dub pads to continue the trip. The third one, by Mihai Pol and his characteristic groove, starts moving the dance floor. Coming next, a partial by an unknown hungarian artist, plays with different tones and borders dissonance, while still being beautiful. Herck comes up next and brings melodical strings and vocals, combined with some serious groove. Then, Cristi Cons bring us the ultimate elegant groove to get everyone dancing once more. A bomb by BRYZ comes next and makes it impossible not to move your body. After that, Cosmjn comes with a deep groove and melodical pads to make your thoughts go away. Then, BRYZ comes once more with a happy bass line to bring the listener back on track. Reaching towards the end, Christopher Ledger makes his way with a full-bodied deep sound and a pretty piano melodie. To conclude this set, Viktor Udvari relaxes the listener with his engaging sound and typical Hungarian vocal samples.”

About OHTNA

Based from Annecy (France) DJ, producer, drummer and composer in various musical projects, he has always been driven by a devouring passion for music.

OVG (Organized Vinyl Group) – Beyond the Walls

About OVG (Organized Vinyl Group)

The project was born in early 2017 in Minsk, Belarus. It consists of 2 people – Alexey Pankevich and Denis Volkov. The aim of the project is to unite people who share love to vinyl culture through two main directions – performances and organisation of music events. 

Since that time as a promo group OVG has launched a series of events called Vinyl Immersion dedicated to playing only vinyl and recently has started a new series called Mindscapes to introduce worldwide artists to Minsk music community. 

As an artist, OVG is a frequent participant in key events of the Minsk electronic scene and has already managed to play on the same stage with such projects as DWIG, SCSI-9, Nikita Zabelin, Paul Iudin and more.

Organised vinyl group focuses on deep, intelligent and emotional music on vinyl.
