Review – Planet Claire Ibiza residency at Octan

You have plenty of choice when it comes to a massive night out in Ibiza, in a massive club, with a massive crowd, massive door price, massive queue at the bar, massive DJs and massive production. But what if you want something more intimate and personal? Can is the one for you.
This new club is not new, but is actually a restyled underground space formerly known as The Basement. It has stripped back styling, low key lights, an even more bijou second room on Spektre and proper music focussed nights.

Ibiza residency – Planet Claire

The newest addition is Planet Claire, a first ever Ibiza residency for the acclaimed French trio of Dyed, Shonky and Dan Ghenacia, aka Apollonia. They are house masters who will bring their own unique flavours to this club through out the 2019 season.
The queues for the opening party are around the edge of the club but we get in quickly and soon get into the groove. Its a warm, mid tempo one that is filled with lush synths and deft percussion. The trip take it in turns to hold court as the crowd below presses up to the booth.
They are a mix of all ages, but seriously know their stuff. There isn’t too much posing here, just straight up dancing. It gets more unhinged and wild as the night moves on, with some bigger techno jams, harder drums and powerful kicks all powering up the club.
The trio enjoy their work, moving about in the booth like the old friends they are, filled with smiling faces. The sound system in the club is a meaty one, with crisp highs and booming, warm, enveloping lows. It is a vital part of what makes this cosy club so special. This new night is a great addition and one that is surely going to become firm fav for house lovers this summer.
