Vlad Arapasu – Atipic Lab 005 [AtipicLab]

The fifth instalment in the Atipic Lab series sees Vlad Arapasu return to Priku‘s infamous imprint with three fresh and engaging tracks, perfect for the summertime. The 12” adds even more flavour to a catalogue signed by the likes of Arapu, Floog, Cosmjn, Faster, VincentIulian, Andu Simion, Jorge Savoretti and Alexis Cabrera.

Bucharest-based DJ and producer Vlad Arapasu has already established a name for himself in the electronic dance music scene and collaborated with labels like Subtil, Uvar, Tooloop and Eastenderz. He sweeps the frequencies with a distinct style all the time and for this EP he sure drops some pressure. The wax is very dynamic on both sides and each track has something different to offer.

Side A features “Basic Moves”, an uplifting rhythm dominated by electric synth strokes and build-ups. A groovy dancefloor tool right here that flows with energy all the way to the B-Side. Here, “Vandab” and “Pitch Mode” combine into a very beautiful dance of minimal, deep tech and dub. B1 reverberates into a spacious and glitchy sound dimension while keeping a steady percussive sequence. Subtle micropatterns add a distinct touch to the core elements, while the lush atmospheres add colour to the background. B2 is simply addictive, as the main vocal sample and the aquatic feeling provided by the drumming perfectly mix one with the other. An odyssey at the beach, this cut is a bomb and it will be heard for sure during this summer, somewhere near the sound of the waves.
