Demuir is one of the few artists today that seem to truly resonate with classic, soulful house music. His clear understanding of the Chi-Town sound is apparent in his own productions, which have recently seen releases on Music For Freaks, Robsoul, Hot Creations and – now with an EP set for release on the 26th July – Desolat.

Boris Ross / Baggi – What You Do
Man, I love this track for the hip hop vocal and it’s rawness to the proper bass and beats structure for tech house. This is proper tech house and takes me back to the track Nathan Barato, Carlo Lio, and The Junkies laid down back in the day at Footwork in Toronto. The swirling synth part gives your head a spin for a moment and then things come back into that groove. Ace cut here!
Reelow – High You Feel
Brilliant track with its subby bass and sharp vocal chops. I love everything about this track, especially the drive it gives from start to finish. A relentless belter and a must have in your stash – I got mine!
wAFF – Bondage
I can recall wAFF messaging me to collab and I naturally said yes, because of tracks like this. I love beats and bass that punch you in the gut and you can feel its presence wherever you are listening because it embodies that feeling. Masterful.
Loco Dice – You Want To Be Me
The hard swinging bass line wreckshop, and you would think it’s the main thing, but there’s more.. First off, you would swear Dilla was playing the bass part with the beat knocking sharply on point. There is just so much going on in this track from the vocal telling you what the point of the song is to more intelligent swing elements added in what sounds like a mildly distorted closed hat all glued together by the beat and loose bass line. The track is bananas!
Mendo, Danny Serrano, Andre Butano – Grush
Banging and proper tech house whose aesthetic is groovy bass lines and beats. The vocal is what does it for me on this one. You feel like the guys is talking to you as he rants throughout the track and making demands to act. Crazy!
