Tulbure – Alibi EP [Music Is Art]
Music is Art returns with another amazing vinyl-only release in the form of “Alibi EP” delivered by local DJ and producer Tulbure. The 12” features two fresh tracks, one on each side, designed with deep minimalistic patterns and rhythms ready to sweep the frequencies on any dancefloor.
Founded in 2014 by Little Hado, Music is Art is a record label and events platform built on a long-standing appreciation for the underground electronic dance music and culture. The juxtaposition of music and art is the imprint’s main focus and contributing artists are encouraged to experiment and go beyond genres and trends. The aim is to create a continuous spiritual link between the music and its listeners. Their catalogue contains materials signed by the likes of Lizz, Dilated Pupils, Kaitaro, Topper, Dragos Ungureanu and Amin Ravelle.
Tulbure is a well-known presence in the scene, bringing forward a delightful blend of top house, techno and minimal productions and selections. As a part of TC Studio alongside Traian Chereches, he worked with Archipel, All Inn Black and Memoria, while his solo adventures include collaborations with Apotek, Pressure Traxx, BP Mind Series, Atmos and Soblazn Music.
Side A titled “Relief” reveals a deep tech house cut that flows smoothly at a steady pace. The percussion and the bassline are elegantly balanced by warm pads and layer variations, creating a continuous and engaging groove. On Side B “Alibi” offers a rather different vibe, as the cut is infused with glitching and graininess while the percussive elements rotate on a heavy minimalistic sequence. In the background you can hear subtle textures building up and fading, keeping the emphasis on the beat.
