Iconic Desert Festival returns to Tunisia’s Star Wars location
LES DUNES ELECTRONIQUES 2019
NEFTA / TOZEUR
21 – 22 September 2019
Les Dunes Electroniques was founded in 2014 as a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of the Republic of Tunisia. After three years away, the festival makes a welcome return in 2019 from September 21-22nd. The action goes down at Ong Jmel, near Nefta, at the gateway to Tunisia’s southern desert—globally recognised as the setting of Luke Skywalker’s hometown, Mos Espa, in the original Star Wars franchise.
This unique musical adventure will serve up 30 hours of uninterrupted music from the Tunisian, French and international electronic scenes with more than 30 artists on the bill.
The festival will also extend to the medina of Nefta and Tozeur and offer a multidisciplinary program that will make the whole region vibe to an electronic rhythm for three days amongst exceptional natural scenery.
THE DUNES ELECTRONIQUES’ mission is to contribute to local development and tourism in the Jerid region, from Nefta to Tozeur, targeting a large audience from all over Tunisia and the world. The event is carried out with the strong support of the Tunisian Minister of Tourism Mr. René Trabelsi, Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of the Republic of Tunisia and Governor of Tozeur, Mr. Aymen Bejaoui. Mr. Jack Lang, president of the Arab World Institute remains faithful to the Electronic Dunes as a godfather.
An unprecedented format, an exceptional natural scenery, a strong representation of the Tunisian youth … all the ingredients are gathered to make this third edition unforgettable, in the process providing a unique experience to the public of DUNES ELECTRONIQUES.
The programme will be unveiled soon and the ticketing is already open thanks to the historic partnership with Travel To Do, the first travel agency in Tunisia led by Tarek Lassadi.

The idea behind Artgriculture is to put contemporary culture at the heart of an agricultural project, local development and fair trade. The educational plot and cabanne is a place to learn about permaculture, and the home studio Houch Music is a place where young people can mix and somewhere that highlights the expertise of women and make the inhabitants of Nefta feel proud.www.palmlab.org
