The first vinyl pressing coming from Honne Music features an outstanding combination of tracks provided by the underground scene legends Rowlanz, Birdsmakingmachine and Melodie alongside label managers and residents Ricardo Mejia and Dieru. Titled HMV01, the Various Artists compilation reveals four groovy tracks that already enjoy support from the likes of Janeret, Ada Kaleh, Teluric, Javier Carballo, Tulbure, Noha and others.

Founded in 2017 in Ensenada, Mexico, Honne Music is an artistic platform designed to support and connect electronic dance music DJs and producers from around the world. With an accent on the underground sound of modern house and techno music, the imprint released digital gems from artists like Laurent Ci, Coriesu, Olivian Nour, Miguelito, Sebastian Eric and Wave Particle Singularity, to name a few. This first wax is a statement of their dedication and passion, as well as the beginning of a new musical adventure for the team.

The VA gathers well-known names, all dispatching amazing music. RLZ Music label-boss, Rowlanz has already been established as a serious presence in the scene, with activity spanning for many years. He worked with a lot of heavyweight artists and collaborated with publishers like Mastertraxx, Botanic Minds, Vivus Records, LDN, Tupiar, Joule and Arupa Music. Birdsmakingmachine is a collective of wandering artists interested in music, design and “birds”, of course. They are well-known for their distinct sound when it comes to producing, as well as for their materials brought forward through their eponymous label, Half Baked, Magic Mountain Club and Rooted Series. Local artist Melodie is back with fresh sounds after the recent release of his latest album “Redesigns”, delivering another hot track for the people. To complete the circle, Ricardo Mejia and Dieru drop the finishing cut with elegance, setting the game to a whole new level with this vinyl.

Side A opens with “Sonnox”, a mesmerizing groovy rhythm signed by Rowlanz. The composition features delightful melodic arrangements and builds tension smoothly, revealing one layer at a time while it gets infused with eerie modulations and effects. Next, there’s Birdsmakingmachine with “Klown Trail”, a pumping cut designed with a wobbling bassline, solid percussion and acidic motifs. On the flipside, we first find Melodie delivering a deep and relaxed sound on “Natural Procedure”. The steady percussion flows gently with a warm background texture, while playful synth notes add colour to the whole. The wax closes with “Reckless Game”, the result of a beautiful collaboration between Ricardo Mejia and Dieru. Their track reveals a dimension full of bright pads and effects that reverberate along with a carefully balanced percussion and bassline. A subtle vocal sample comes into focus from time to time adding something special to the groove.
