This week’s episode of feeder sound provides a hot selection of tracks dispatched by Mihut. Enjoy!
Mihut is a Dj and producer from Romania based in Helsinki, Finland. He is the co-founder of This Moment On, a part of Everyday Paradise Crew (RO) and a co-host of This Moment On show on Bassoradio.
Born in Constanta, south-east of Romania, his world revolved around music since childhood, collecting vinyl records, old instruments and starting to take piano lessons at the age of seven. When he was sixteen, he was already playing at the decks of Celentano Beach, one of the founding outlets of Romania’s electronic dance music scene. At nineteen he moves to Cluj-Napoca where he performs alongside artists like Margaret Dygas, Olivier Melin (Fuse Belgium) and many local DJs. Influenced by his native Romanian sound, he plays groovy and uplifting sets, delivering a delightful combination of old and new sounds, minimal, techno or deep house, determined only by the vibe he finds out there.
In 2016 he joins Everyday Paradise crew and in 2017, together with Stiofan Grego, he launches This Moment On in Helsinki. The duo is hosting an eponymous bi-weekly radio show on Bassoradio, inviting artists like Sepp, Dudley Strangeways, Fouk, Dragos Ilici, Vid and Primarie to showcase their mixing skills. They are also dedicated to music making, their productions providing an elegant blend of melodic sequences, clear percussion and echo-sphere. Some of their tracks were heard at festivals like Sunwaves, being played by Tulbure and Praslesh.
“The mix for Feeder is looking to show a particular layered sound, with Nordic influences towards the minimal sound we are used to, but it also brings two unreleased tracks from This Moment On and an unreleased collaboration with Romulus C, a Romanian artist that works in Helsinki as well.” – Mihut
feeder sound 206 mixed by Mihut delivers a colourful selection that incorporates various house and techno-oriented music, going from deep minimalistic compositions to more uplifting moments. Spiced with some electric cuts, the recording flows with a steady balance and seamless transitions.
