What do you know about The Omnia Hall? Except for two or three titles, for most of you, the answer is nothing. It is situated in an area with special features, in the centre, but yet detached by the city due to the lack of direct access to N. Bălăcescu, a problem resolved recently, increased protection from the ministry area, but mostly the lack of public spaces and services. This area is on no affective map.

Short History:

Over the course of time, The Omnia Hall from Cristian Popişteanu no 3 hosted the Romanian Senate and the National Opera Theater “Ion Dacian“. The building was designed by the architect Cezar Lăzărescu (1923–1986) in 1967 as an annexe to the headquarters of Romanian Communist Party Central Committee, an annexe which initially held the party conferences.

After a governmental decision approved in September 2016, the Omnia Room passed from the National Bucharest Opera’s administration to National Center of Dance Bucharest’s (CNDB) administration, the only public cultural institution under the Ministry of Culture design with the purpose to sustain, develop and promote contemporary dance.
