Various Artists – Selections Vol. 1 [Ladeep Limited]

After “Tools EP” signed by Rigzz marks Ladeep Limited‘s first vinyl entry to their catalogue, the Argentinian record label presents its second release in the form of a Various Artists compilation. The four-tracker 12” titled “Selections Vol. 1” features four deep tech house tracks delivered by Justin Pak, JustGrowth, Dellacasa and Twodeep. With experience in releasing digital content, Ladeep‘s focus on exploring the depths of tech rhythms and minimalistic house cuts, concluded to the imprint’s next step in the world of electronic dance music: delivering wax! The artist selection for this toolbox provides a groovy atmosphere, shaped with strong percussions, energetic funky cuts and deep textures.

The hypnotic “Tool A” opens the compilation, telling the story behind the curtains of music making using a modulated vocal sample as the track’s signature sound. The wobbled bassline is emphasized by subtle effects and the percussion is crisp and dynamic. Justin Pak‘s minimalistic approach to this cut proves the versatility he’s known for, as his compositions go from deep and dubby techno to pumping tech rhythms. His releases are published by imprints like Constant Sound, Syntaxx Records, Baile Music, Mirifique Music and Quanticman Records.

Next we find the funky “Androide” signed by JustGrowth. Designed with moments of deep atmospheric pads that transform in melodic chords and uplifting build-ups, this mesmerizing composition has a swing to it. The pads create an exotic pattern as the percussion provides a groovy balance. The works of JustGrowth can be found on the catalogues of imprints like Tren Iki, Sinapsis Records, 4Plae Records and Love & Loops.

On the flipside, Dellacasa delivers “A1”, a pulsating rhythm featuring a vocal sample from Lauryn Hill’s track “Doo Wop (That Thing)”. The pounding percussion is backed by a whirling bassline, making this cut a perfect tool to be played in an energetic set. The Argentinian DJ and producer shared the decks with many well-known international artists over the years and he enjoys releasing with labels like Blind Vision Records, Rationalism and Re.Face Records.

Closing the VA, there’s Twodeep‘s “7Shot5”, a deep and dubby composition imbued with phased chords and heavily modulated vocal samples and effects. The alluring atmosphere of the track is emphasized by the elegant build-ups and the intended blurry sound provided by the background textures. Rubisco, Alfa Records, Deepology Trick Track Records and Frost Plates Recordings are among the record labels that published works from this talented DJ and producer.
