Vlad Caia – Division 1 [AMPHIA]

Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia’s Amphia Records has been sitting comfortably among the most influential labels when we talk about the unique sound that had been crafted into the Romanian underground for quite a few years.

Vlad Caia makes a return with Division 1, a double LP set to be released in June 2018.

Starting with Division, the Side A track that has perfectly set the premises on a future alt dance floor, with dazed harmonies layered on top of sharp loops, it becomes clear right from the beginning that this EP would imprint some nice memories into the dance floor collective conscious. Side Point’s dense atmosphere gets softened only by scattered guitar strings as we pass by to the second record just to get trapped into the thriller suspense built around the baseline, where whines vocoded to fit the sci-fi theme will raise some eyebrows on the dance floor. Border Patrol is the track that stands out, at least from our point of view: slow paced electro emotions meant to induce a late afternoon reverie. Keeping the grooves at the same steady level as its counterpart, Interstice constructs its narrative thread on synthetic harmonies and organic hisses: a perfect closing track for any summer festival you can think of.
