Mihai Popoviciu Top 5 favourite remixes (In no particular order!)

This weekend, music is here to stay! Mihai Popoviciu is sharing with us his top 5 favourite remixes and the tracks are playing on repeat for hours already. 🙂 We hope you enjoy the selection and his nice words as much as we do, and get yourself ready for a crazy weekend, a lot of good music and a few hours on the dancefloor.

Pellon – Harmonies Of Glass (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Parallel Label]

I really like the vocal on this one! I played around with it and used the refrain in the break. The themes sit on a groovy 909 percussion that makes it suitable for peak time action.

Benno Blome – Abotha (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Time Has Changed

Slightly more up-tempo and slick remix with simmering and shimmying chords rolling over the face of the straight housy beats. In the breaks, I used some warm pads to change the mood.

Per Hammar – Released Dubb  (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Danse Club Records]

Straight to the floor version of a great original! The stabs and chords lay over the stomping groove. Pads are coming in and out to give it a warm feel.

Phonique & Acumen – The Moment feat. Boot Slap (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Dessous Recordings]

The original has a catchy vocal that I also used in the remix. I turned it into a tough and techy rework with a jacking bassline.

Qbeck – Eureka (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Amam]

This one has a rather dark and mysterious mood. The percussion is slick and driving so it can work in all moments of a party.

Eddie Richards – Soul Is Life (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) [Storm Recordings]

It was such an honour for me to get asked by the legend Eddie Richards to do a remix for this classic of his! I tried to keep the same vibe as the original and give it my personal touch at the same time.

Let us know what’s your favourite track from Mihai Popoviciu’s remix selection. Pellon’s Harmonies of Glass (ft. a remix by Mihai Popoviciu) is out now on Parallel Label.
