The second colourway of the most hyped sneaker from the adidas x Kanye West line, the 750s launched on the 19th of December 2015. The sneaker came in a minimal tone as the first 750, this time taking a darker route.

Regarding the materials, they are not as good compared to the ones used on the first 750s. Although the suede is soft, the sneaker features glue stains or small factory flaws. The dynamic straps feature two well-thought and subtle details, the 3 stripes and the adidas logo on the right one and the YZY written on the other one. The black rope laces are simple and feature no branding on the eyelets.

The problem with the faulty zipper persists. Although adidas changed it with a (supposedly) better one, the zipper still breaks.

The shoe is light for a high top and the internal boost makes it comfortable. Due to the monotone colourway and the design it is easy to match with any outfit.

The packaging is the same as the previous 750. The pair comes packaged in a sturdy box with padded bottom. Although the same cotton dust bags are still present, a second pair of laces that was included with the previous colourway is missing.

The most interesting part about the sneaker is the hype created and the secrecy that was around the sneaker. Rumours were saying at first that the release date of the black pair will be on the Black Friday, after that on the 5th and then finally the 19th. Adidas and Footlocker announced the release date and the method of buying on the 15th.

What might be the most unprofessional thing from one of the biggest sportswear brands is the list with the retailers that will carry the 750s available on the adidas site. The initial list was the same as the one from the 350s Pirate Black. After a few hours the list was updated, showing the ‘real’ retailers that will get the sneakers.

The method of buying the sneakers at the Footlocker stores was also changed from a ‘first come – first served‘ basis to the raffle one. This came as a surprise for many sneakerheads that were camping from Sunday in front of the Footlocker stores with hopes of getting a pair. Except of 4 or 5 retailers that allowed camping, the only option of buying the sneakers was via a raffle (or an arcade game, that could easily be hacked, in the case of SlamJam). This might be an early sign that camping one week in advance for a pair of sneakers is finished and raffle will be the new ‘fair‘ way of buying sneakers.

The list from the Footlocker Madrid camp that started on early Sunday

In conclusion, is interesting the volume of Yeezy products that are coming out and the demand that is steadily growing. In a single year adidas released 2 colourways of the 750’s, 4 colourways of the 350s, 4 colourways of the 950s and a clothing capsule. Quoting Kanye, ‘Everyone will have Yeezys‘.
