31st of august is the day of vegetables in Japan

Japonezii au sărbatorit recent ziua legumelor cu un experiment cel putin straniu dar foarte interesant. Despre cum sa detonezi o legumă cu unde subacvatice provenite în urma unei explozii care transforma conținutul ei în suc… după click!

“The 31st of August is the day of vegetable in Japan. Why? Because August is the eighth month of the year and eight in Japanese can be pronounced as “Ya”. Then 31 breaks into three and one. Three in Japanese is “San” or “Sa”, one is “Ichi” or “I”. Now let´s put all the numbers together. It´s Yasai means vegetable in Japanese. That´s why it´s Yasai no HI (野菜の日/ the day of vegetable).

The technology used for this experiment was invented by Dr. Shigeru Ito; a professor emeritus, at the University of Kumamoto. (Current principal at Okinawa National College of Technology) The experiment in this spot was all conducted by the staff of the Pulsed Power Japan Laboratory which took place at their lab. For the sake of safety, simulated explosives were used for some scenes.”
