INNERSOUND International New Arts Festival
Bucharest, August 26-31 2013 – 2nd edition – “Mysterium”

CALL FOR SHORT SILENT FILMS: Submission deadline: May 15, 2013

About InnerSound:

InnerSound New Arts Festival was created by young and enthusiastic artists from Romania, who gave it a unique format at its first edition in 2012. InnerSound is growing into a strong platform for the emerging composers, instrumentalists, photographers, visual artists and film directors, while at the same time including in its program internationally renowned artists.

The theme of InnerSound 2013 is Mysterium, referring to the European medieval tradition of syncretism. The idea of “mystery plays”, the predecessors of theatrical manifestations, is updated to contemporary secular realities. The InnerSound audience is invited to discover the hidden meaning behind every event, by hearing, seeing, feeling and interacting with the magic that artists have prepared for them.

Silent Film Night:

The InnerSound original and successful concept brings together film directors / visual artists and young art music composers for fresh and exciting projects. In 2013, the Silent Film Night will take place in the courtyard of the National Peasant Museum, on August 29th. The music will be performed live by a chamber ensemble (up to 5 performers, one on a part: flute, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, may incorporate electronics) and will be written by the best young Romanian composers, selected by the festival team.

This year we invite artists of all ages and nationalities to submit short, silent films or animations between 3-8 minutes long, until May 15th, either by file transfer at innersound.festival@gmail.com, or by mail, at the following address:

The Electroacoustic and Multimedia Music Center –

We recommend that all films should be created within the last 5 years.
