#FMR_4, 10 iulie, Fabrica de Pensule, Sala Studio

Oana Hodade

hello, I am A., I’m a rapper and I came here to perform a song.

P.:

M: What is the song?

P: It’s a manea.

M: Why did you choose it?

P: Why? Because it sounds great to me, the original one.

M: What is the name of the song?

P: Melodia fetelor.

J: I would like you to imagine that in the very old times there was no difference between male and female, there were no male or female, there were just some beings able to make from themselves another being.

Așa încât la final cineva întreabă where is this from? și J. răspunde I made it up, this is just a story, like any other story.

***

W.: What is the inspiration for this story?

J.: I don’t believe in truth, I believe in stories, in relativity, so I always try to think of another version of a story that we are told.

***

J.: For me, it’s interesting to think about the man as the loser in this story, because in these times we are always thinking about the woman’s place in society, but men have to rethink their own place, too.

***

Prietenii lui A. n-au ajuns încă. It’s ok, we can still wait.

***

B.: You made me think of something I made last year in Cluj, it’s more into virtuality and how the body is transformed through technology.

  1. ne arată acest video.

***

  1. I thought that it was very poetic when the body was in the light, and the image of you when you sit, it looked like stones, but we realise it’s a human body. And with this light it’s very beautiful; it was good that the light was overexposed – it’s poetry through imperfections.

***.

A., what do you say?

A: They are very very close.

***

***

A.: It’s about when you love someone and the other person doesn’t love you back.

W.: Is this your composition?

A.: Yes.

O.: I just wanted to say that you have a really nice presence on stage.

L.: Also, all white to me is a sign of great confidence.

W.: Did you see yourself perform?

A.: Yes.

W.: Because sometimes it’s very difficult to see yourself.

A.: I gotta watch myself because I wanna evolve. It’s normal to watch yourself perform, just to rewatch from the other point of view.

J.: Sometimes it’s too hard. And sometimes it brings you to the opposite of something you have seen. Or you want to do it again, what you’ve seen. You see what I mean? It’s dangerous.

A.: Especially if you fail.

J.: If you think that you failed, because sometimes it’s not a fail, it’s the beginning of a new step. And if you look at the video and you say, ah, I’ve missed it, I failed, you miss the new step.

W.: I don’t want the light.

So, I was at home today with my family and I know myself pretty well but there are some parts of myself that I don’t know so well.

But I felt that I am this being that likes to experience stuff.

I don’t know, I have sometimes the impression that I am different from all the other people, because I am like a ‘feel freak’, you know what I mean? I feel, and I feel a lot, and I have the impression that I feel much more than others and somehow I have the impression that I can feel more than people want to tell me or want to show me.

And at the same time, I am an addict of the body touch, I love to be touched.

Not the sexual way, just a touch.

I just love massage, I am completely melting when somebody touches my shoulder or my hand or anything.

I think I give so much to my children, so much touch and love and affection, that all this time I’ve been giving and giving and at some points I feel like I’m this lake that never gets filled, with just a need to be touched. But at the same time, I restrict myself and I don’t allow people to touch me, but I love to hug people, the ones that I love and appreciate, I love to hug them. Sometimes I feel like holding their hands, but I have the impression that I can give them more than they can accept so I have to hold back and I respect other people’s privacy and all.

So this one morning I was laying in bed and my son came close to my feet, I had no socks on, and my foot touched his hair, and it was, he has a milky soft hair, and it was such an amazing experience of touch and it was so different than the things I’ve been recently experiencing in my adult life.

So I decided, just coming here today, I would like to give this experience to you. I would like to lay down on the floor and I will lay my hair and anybody who wishes to experience this type of thing – maybe nobody and I respect that, it’s fine –, and it’s not this type of pleasure where somebody touches me, because my hair has no possibility to feel, but I would like to grant you this experience of walking on the carpet of hair, soft hair.

So I would like you for two minutes to take off your shoes or your socks and try this.

Înainte să accepte propunerea lui W., J. spune: This is between stand-up and contemporary performance. This is the first time I see something like this.
