The UK based vinyl-only record label Floorpiece presents its fourth installment, titled “Vonobox EP” and signed by Italian producers Alessio Viggiano and Laurent Ci. Focusing on releasing minimal and deep techno music, the imprint showcases a groovy sound either it’s wax, party or podcast.

Alessio Viggiano is a producer and DJ from Napoli with releases on Beste Modus, Perception Dub, 4Plae Records, Yoruba Grooves, Fake Music, Body Parts, Kina Music, Moral Fiber, Deep Tech Records and many others. With a rich discographic history and residencies at parties like Space Division (DE), Dancing In (GR), Deepandance (FR) and RawBar (IT), Alessio enjoys constant support from the international electronic music scene. His groovy productions and selections made him share the decks with Rich Nxt, Jack Wickham, Dan Andrei, Cap, and other well-known artists. For this EP he teams-up with Laurent Ci, who’s latest drop on the Mo-Ob VA (a collaborative work with Andrea Caioni) was highly appreciated. Coming from San Benedetto del Tronto in Italy, Laurent published his works with imprints like B.Soul Music, House On Wax, Bla Bla Music, Off Path, Monday Morning Records, Rooted Series, and others. Nowadays, he’s a member of the op:um group and you can catch him playing across Europe, delivering energetic rhythms and top-notch compositions on many dancefloors.

“Vonobox EP” is backed-up by two strong remixes delivered by Teluric and Michael James, while Priku, Apollonia, Ferro, Rich NXT and others are playing the wax already.

Side A features the title track “Vonobox” and its remix signed by local artist Mihai Mihalcea aka Teluric. The original cut features a dynamic rhythm, designed with a focus on eerie background textures, subtle reverberating pads and a gloomy vocal sample. The wobbling bassline and the driving percussion add intensity as the sound patterns evolve and the track flows. Mihai adds ambient themes and dubby chords, taking the piece into the realm of minimal and deep techno. His approach to “Vonobox” reveals a stripped-down version of the core sounds infused with melodic motifs and subtle echoes of the original vocal samples.

On Side B we find “Tamita” and British producer and DJ, Michael James, on the remix. Alessio’s composition reveals yet another wobbling groove, with dense atmospheres and sweeping modulations. The track delivers a lively bounce with an electric and funky feeling to it and features a haunting vocal sample from time to time. Michael’s version introduces glitched sounds and plays as a steady minimal tech rhythm. The crisp percussion is energetic and warping effects add flavour to the background layers. A very danceable cut, dispatched by a versatile artist.
