Pe 22 octombrie Andy Smith revine în România, la Madame Pogany, alături de MC Honey Brown.
Interviu de: Andreea Vasile
You have a busy autumn and October seems to be the most crowded in terms of gigs. Have you had a busy year touring?
I’M ACTUALLY NOT TOURING OUTSIDE OF THE UK TOO MUCH THESE DAYS AND AM CONCENTRATING ON DOING REGULAR RESIDENCIES AROUND THE UK.
Some of the shows are quite tight when it comes to dates. On October 21st you’ll be in London and on the next day in Bucharest. How do you keep your spirit up and your energy going at such busy times?
I JUST DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO REALLY. I STILL ENJOY IT SO I GUESS THAT IS THE MAIN THING.
I’ve read in a 2010 interview that at that time you were looking for a vocalist for your solo LP. When will it be out?
I HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE A BACK SEAT ON THE RECORDING OF MY SOLO ALBUM. I DID SOME TRACKS, BUT WEREN’T TOTALLY HAPPY WITH THEM. AND DIDN’T SEE WHERE THEY WOULD FIT IN WITH TODAY’S TRENDS, SO HAVE GONE BACK TO GRASS ROOTS WITH THE DJ-ING SIDE OF THINGS AGAIN NOW.
What do you have in store for the Romanian audience? Will you prepare the tracks in advance or just go with the flow and the energy of the people at the venue?
IT WILL BE A MIX OF STYLES FROM ALL ERAS AND GENRES. IT WILL BE NICE TO GET BACK TO PLAYING SOME HIP HOP (THE OLD STUFF!) AND DISCO TUNES WITH MC HONEY BROWN DOING HIS THING TOO!
